How recipients consent to SMS alerts
Barkeep Sensors is a cold-storage monitoring product for bars and restaurants. SMS messages are exclusively transactional equipment alerts (temperature threshold breaches and monitoring-hardware offline events). There is no marketing or promotional content of any kind on this number.
Opt-in workflow (web form, owner-managed)
- A venue owner creates a Barkeep Sensors account and registers their monitoring hardware (gateway).
- In the Barkeep application, the owner opens their gateway's Alert Contacts screen and adds a staff member's mobile number, with that person's consent, choosing SMS as the contact method.
- The recipient receives alerts only for that venue's equipment, and only when a sensor crosses a threshold the owner configured or hardware goes offline.
- Every message footer and the alert-contacts screen make removal available at any time: the owner can disable or delete any contact instantly in the application.
Opt-out methods
- Reply STOP to any message (carrier-level opt-out, honored automatically by our provider, Twilio).
- The venue owner removes or disables the contact in the Barkeep application (takes effect immediately).
- Email support@barkeepsensors.com for manual removal.
Message characteristics
- Volume:event-driven; typically a handful of messages per month per recipient (estimated <1,000/month total).
- Content example:“Alert: Walk-In Cooler high threshold breach. Reading: 41.2 °F | Limit: 38.0 °F. Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help.”
- One-way notifications tied to the recipient's workplace equipment; recipients have an existing relationship with the venue that enrolled them.
